UJI KESEHATAN ENAM VARIETAS BENIH KACANG TANAH (Arachis hypogea L.) DENGAN METODE PEMERIKSAAN BIJI KERING DAN PENCUCIAN BENIH

Abstract

Peanuts (Arachis hypogaea L.) are the second most important commodity after soybeans in Indonesia. Peanuts have a high oil and protein content, which is 42% and 22%, respectively. Peanut production always decreases from year to year, which is caused by several factors, one of which is fungi that are carried away by seeds. Seed-borne fungi that are commonly found in peanuts, namely, Fusarium sp. and Aspergillus sp. This study aims to obtain and identify the types of mushrooms carried on seeds in the six varieties of peanuts used. The seed health test is carried out by the dry seed examination method and the grinding method (seed washing). The results of the dry seed examination method showed that there was a difference in percentages in each observation category in six varieties of peanuts. Meanwhile, from the grinding method, 11 isolates were obtained, with 3 identified, namely, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus sp., and Penicillium sp.
